Instant video messages have been introduced by WhatsApp
Meta, the company behind WhatsApp, has introduced a new feature that enhances the messaging experience by allowing users to send and receive short video messages in their chats. These instant video messages function similarly to voice messages, but with the added emotion and personal touch of video content.
To use this feature, users can tap the icon 🎥 located to the right of the text field, which switches the chat to video mode. They can then record up to 60 seconds of video to share with their contacts. Moreover, the video recording process is made convenient, as users can simply swipe up to lock the recording and go hands-free.
In chats, video messages appear in a circular format, distinguishing them from regular videos. They play automatically without sound, but tapping on the video enables users to hear the audio.
The added security of end-to-end encryption ensures that these video messages remain private and secure during transmission.
According to Meta, instant video messages are a fun and easy way to share special moments with loved ones, whether it's celebrating a birthday, sharing a laugh over a joke, or delivering good news.
The rollout of this feature has already begun, and it is expected to be available to all WhatsApp users in the coming weeks.
